A forum for people who (either individually or collectively) want to do something of a more enduring nature. To produce substantial works; journal-quality articles, books, research articles, etc on Ukrainian themes. Themes for consideration could focus on migrant experiences relevant to Ukrainian communities in the Diaspora (mainly Australia). More specifically, this would highlight our achievements as an ethnic community.

St Andrew’s Ukrainian School, Narodnij Dim, Ukrainian Youth Centre (UYC)

The XIV National Ukrainian Festival Committee & St Andrew’s Ukrainian School invite all students / children from Sydney and around Australia to spend the day together. 

Meeting at 9am at St Andrew’s Ukrainian School the group will have the opportunity to get to know one another or rekindle friendships then together with their teachers the students will have the opportunity to view all the cultural and art exhibitions on display. 

Lunch will be provided by the school’s parent committee and then the group will be accompanied to the Ukrainian Youth Centre for an afternoon of Ukrainian hand craft and activities. Ending with an exhibit of the works produced.

Special forums have been prepared for the enjoyment of youth and children such as: – 

“Ukrainian musical instruments & their history” led by Peter Deriashnyj 10:30 am at Narodnij Dim

“Ukrainian Good Luck Charms, Ukrainian Embroidery & Head Pieces their meanings and origin” - led by the well-versed & renowned speaker Orysia Tracz from Canada12:30 pm at UYC

Youth and Children’s Ukrainian Craft Workshops – UYC 12:30pm to 3:30pm - Now understanding the meaning of the Ukrainian charms and artistry the group will make them and then will put together a display for the festival’s attendees delight.
